ABOUT
I come from a background surrounding the maritime industry having grown up in Jersey, Channel Islands. After graduating in Graphic Design at Falmouth University which in turn, gave me the tools to establish my own bikini business, I naturally fell into the yachting world. I acquired my Yachtmaster, skippered a sailing yacht in Greece, travelled around whilst on deck and at one point under the blazing mediterranean sun, considered reusing teak remnants to make paper...
Stepping ashore, I had the utmost privilege of working for one of the industry's leading recruitment agencies, loving every minute and finding a career I loved in the duration.
My ethos surrounds character building and doing the right thing so when this all began, I wanted to not only recruit in a more gentle, fine tuned and quality focussed way, but also actively avoid the use of AI which is impacting our climate at a concerning rate and warping perception in what we read, see and do.
I genuinely enjoy the human connection that comes with recruitment. Matching crew to client based on not only experience and character, but intuition too, is why I love doing this.
THE PROCESS
THE FIRST STEP
By consistently working with a select number of vessels, ongoing context and familiarity strengthens matching a candidate to a programme. Initially, an in depth understanding of the characters onboard, the crew dynamic and the programme's nature is taken into account before candidates are considered.
INTRODUCING CREW
Each candidate is screened before being sent to a client. Experience, character, goals and expectations are heard followed by reference checks and certificate verification.
Initially knowing the full picture simply cancels the risk of plot twists further down the line.
RECRUIT WITH CONFIDENCE
Throughout the process of identifying the newest crew member, hands on support is provided at every stage; even if it's just needing a sounding board.
Transaction is not motive here - genuine care goes into ensuring both parties are as happy as possible.
